NFT-based identity sounds futuristic, but let’s be real—is this actually about security and convenience, or is it just another step toward corporate surveillance? Sure, using an NFT as an ID could eliminate passwords and reduce data leaks, but at what cost? Once your identity is permanently on-chain, who really controls it? Governments? Corporations? What happens if it gets compromised? Unlike a password, you can’t just “reset” an NFT identity. And let’s not forget the massive privacy risks. If all your credentials, voting records, or personal details are linked to a blockchain address, it creates a perfect surveillance tool. Even if it’s encrypted, metadata leaks, smart contract vulnerabilities, or even regulations could expose people’s private info. So, while NFT-based identity could revolutionize security, it also raises a big question—are we trading privacy for convenience? Would you trust your identity to the blockchain, or is this just another way for big tech to tighten its grip?
