It’s interesting to see the same banks that were once vocal skeptics of crypto now jumping on the bandwagon. But honestly, this shift isn’t just a trend it’s a sign that crypto is maturing and entering mainstream financial systems. Banks are realizing the potential of tokenized assets, and their move into crypto custody and DeFi partnerships could signal a level of legitimacy that we haven't seen before.
That said, I’m still very cautious about giving up full control over my assets. Trusting banks with crypto custody is a big ask they’ve historically failed in securing assets in traditional finance, so I’m not sold on them being the safest option for self-sovereignty. I’m all for leveraging regulated platforms for exposure but for actual custody I’m sticking with self-custody and cold wallets for long-term security.
