Beta (Release)

Beta refers to an early version of a program for users to test. The testing of this program’s phase is done for feedback. Logically, the Beta stage follows the Alpha stage.

The term was birthed from the field of Computer Science as the testing of software need to undergo a second stage for a complete assessment of its capabilities. For the program to be performed, the software in consideration is made available to developers and target customers. This process is also known as a Beta release; logically, those participating in it are called, Beta Testers.

Beta Testing is divided in two types:

1.Closed Beta – Beta Testing with a limited number of invited testers

2.Open Beta – Beta Testing that may be made public to anyone who is interested
